ORDINANCE NO. 2131 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING CHAPTER 5.28 BI DOWNTOWN PLEASANTON BUSINESS <br /> IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br /> WHEREAS, based in part on recommendations of the Pleasanton Downtown <br /> Association, and the stated purpose of the Downtown Pleasanton Business Improvement District <br /> (BID) to support commercial economic vitality, the BID will continue to support new businesses in <br /> the Downtown and remove the exemption for such businesses from the first year annual BID <br /> assessment; and <br /> WHEREAS, the BID boundaries are to be modified to include commercial properties and <br /> exclude residential properties to more accurately reflects which properties benefits from the BID. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the proposed amendment to the Pleasanton <br /> Municipal Code regarding is consistent with the Pleasanton General Plan and Downtown <br /> Specific Plan, and that this amendment will not cause a significant effect on the environment as <br /> provided in Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations Section 15061(b)(3). <br /> SECTION 2. The Pleasanton Municipal Code is hereby amended as set forth in <br /> Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> SECTION 3. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) <br /> days after its adoption in "The Valley Times", a newspaper of general circulation published in <br /> the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the <br /> City Clerk's Office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be operative January 1, 2016. <br /> The foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br /> City of Pleasanton on November 3, 2015 and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of <br /> the City of Pleasanton on November 17, 2015 by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, P- tin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Jerry/Corn:, M.yor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Karen Di , City Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> Jonathah_P owell, City Attorney <br />
