•
Traffic via Lund Ranch Road / Independence and Junipero / Sunset Creek and Sycamore Creek
Considerations:
Lund Ranch Road to Independence to Junipero
550 car trips per day from Lund Ranch II
600 plus car trips anticipated from apartment complex at the corner of Bernal and Stanley
These two combined will add additional anticipated cars near the park to over 2800 per day from
current 1680
Although there may appear to be two exit routes from Lund Ranch Road, Hopkins Way is generally not
used as an exit route from Lund Ranch Road as it climbs a hill and is not a direct route
The traffic on Junipero near the intersection of San Antonio will increase from 2240 today to over 3390
The traffic near the Raleys shopping center will increase from 2880 today to over 4030
alk,011
v2
Junipero in the original plans when the neighborhood was built, Junipero was never intended to handle
the traffic counts it has today. As a matter of fact Junipero was a dead end at Sunol and through traffic
was supposed to flow down Mission. Junipero simply cannot handle the additional traffic, we are
putting children at risk that play at the park and families that live on Junipero.
Sunset Creek to Sycamore Creek
550 car trips per day from Lund Ranch II
Three exit routes and they are all used exiting from the top of Sunset Creek thus diluting the effect of
550 car trips per day
Exit route one: Sunset Creek to Summit Creek to Sycamore Creek
Exit route two: Sunset Creek to Hanifen Way to Sycamore Creek
Exit route three: Sunset Creek to Dalton Creek Way to Sycamore Creek
Sunset Creek's original plans included the planned extension of Sunset Creek Lane when new
developments would be built on Lund Ranch and home owners knew of this when they purchased their
homes. The roads in this development area were built to accommodate the future traffic.
