Observe around Mission Hills park between 3 -5pm (winter) but also 3 -7pm in summer.
There are lots of parked cars for families playing or practicing soccer games and lots of traffic coming home from work,
especially cut -thru traffic from Sunol Blvd turning right on Junipero, then left on Independence, then right onto Bernal.
This cut -thru is to avoid the long traffic lines on Sunol Blvd coming off 1 -680 each afternoon.
Many of the people parking along Junipero for soccer have children opening car doors with traffic flowing in both
directions around the curves. When cars are coming in both directions it presents dangers to people exiting the parked
cars and drivers trying to quickly narrow the gap to avoid taking off someone's car door (or hit a person).
2. Observe traffic at Junipero and Sunol Blvd between 7:30am- 8:30am Lots of traffic flowing thru town on Sunol Blvd
toward the 1 -680 interchange. Many days cars going southbound on 1 -680 back up to Ace Hardware (Richerts) making it
difficult to make a left turn from Junipero onto Sunol Blvd. Some days Junipero (at Sunol Blvd light) is backed up past the
Raleys entrance and requires 2 turns of the light. Also there is lots of traffic on Junipero crossing Sunol (to Valley) to drop
children off at PMS.
Adding more car trips from Lund II via Independence and Junipero seems counter - intuitive to mitigating traffic flow.
Respectfully,
Gary Sabo
Lund Ranch Road resident
1
