Everybody in this area enjoys Mission Hills Park, including those who live in Sycamore Heights. There is significant
pedestrian activity there, including our children and their parents and grandparents, who must cross Junipero in order to
get to the park. This section of Junipero has a dangerous S -Curve that often has many cars parked on both sides of the
street, severely restricting street visibility. Regularly, there are children's sports practices at this park, particularly during
peak traffic hours, exacerbating the situation. Additionally, it is easy for drivers to get distracted through this S- Curve, as
they may take their eyes off the road to check out what's going on at the park. There are no such similar conditions in
the Sycamore Heights neighborhood. So what we have is much more traffic on Junipero compared to the vast majority
of the Sycamore Heights route and significantly more pedestrian traffic.
In the interest of safety around our shared neighborhood park and shopping center, I urge the Council to adopt the
solution that has already been extensively analyzed and approved by the Planning Commission, which is to route all
traffic from the new housing development through the Sunset Creek Lane extension and no traffic through Lund Ranch
Road and Junipero Street.
z
1,01O
a
X2,880,;
Qn
_,,or
vnpo'os 1,500
Z240 d , •
7 ' i Q\
0p.
0> /
A , .
