ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AMENDING CHAPTER 18.20 (DESIGN REVIEW) OF THE PLEASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE, AS FILED UNDER CASE P15-0384 <br /> WHEREAS, based in part on recommendations of the Historic Preservation Task <br /> Force, at its meeting of November 18, 2014, the City Council directed staff to initiate a <br /> Municipal Code amendment to expand design review authority for "historic" single-family <br /> homes in the Downtown Specific Plan Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, on October 14, 2015, the Planning Commission held a public <br /> hearing on the proposed amendment to the Pleasanton Municipal Code and <br /> recommended that the City Council approve the amendment to Chapter 18.20 (Design <br /> Review) to require Administrative Design Review approval for certain exterior changes to <br /> single-family homes in residential zoning districts within the Downtown Specific Plan <br /> Area that are determined to be historic resources; and <br /> WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held before the City Council on <br /> November 3, 2015, at which time the City Council reviewed the report of the Director of <br /> Community Development regarding the proposed amendment to the Pleasanton <br /> Municipal Code, and considered all related reports, documents, testimony, and the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the same November 3, 2015 meeting the City Council accepted <br /> the historic resource survey prepared by Architectural Resources Group (August 2015), <br /> from which some of the historic residential structures subject to this expanded design <br /> review authority were determined. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the proposed amendment to the <br /> Pleasanton Municipal Code regarding design review within the Downtown Specific Plan <br /> Area is consistent with the Pleasanton General Plan, and that this amendment will not <br /> cause a significant effect on the environment as provided in Title 14 of the California <br /> Code of Regulations Section 15061(b)(3). <br /> SECTION 2. The Pleasanton Municipal Code is hereby amended as set forth in <br /> Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> SECTION 3. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen <br /> (15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times", a newspaper of general circulation <br /> published in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for <br /> fifteen (15) days in the City Clerk's Office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its passage <br /> and adoption. <br />
