Attachment 2 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE (RESOLUTION NO. 92 -100) TO REVISE SEWER RATES AND CHARGES WHEREAS, pursuant to sound fiscal management practices the fees, rates and charges for providing sanitary sewer services must provide for the recovery of all local and regional costs incurred by the City, Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD), and City of Livermore in providing such sewerage services, including capital, operational, maintenance, administration, maintenance, monitoring and replacements costs pursuant to Municipal Code § 15.20.30; and WHEREAS, fees, rates, and charges are to be increased or decreased annually, on an automatic basis, without requirement for further City Council action based on: (a) the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as applied to local sewer rates and charges imposed by the City, beginning July 1, 2016 for the next five (5) years, upon notice provided to customers as required by law; and WHEREAS, local sewer rates and charges are to be adjusted to modify discounts provided to residents over the age of 65 from a 20% discount to a 15% discount, and qualified low- income persons to remain at a 30% discount, to encourage water conservation and limit the General Fund subsidy of these discounts; and WHEREAS, as provided by Pleasanton Municipal Code section 15.20.180 sewer rates and charges shall be specified in the Master Fee Schedule; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Master Fee Schedule (Resolution No. 92 -100) provisions regarding sewer rates, fees and charges are hereby amended as set forth in the Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective upon its passage and adoption, and shall be operative on October 15, 2015. SECTION 3. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. Passed, Approved and Adopted by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on October 6, 2015.
