Attachment 2
Proje t Paint Box Artist bio and design description
My name is Tony Bailey. I am a professional artist, illustrator, and
designer. I am the founder/curator of Thumbtack Press, which is
the first open edition online print store for emerging illustrators
and - I'm happy to say-flourished as a business on Main Street in
Pleasanton before it was purchased in 2010 by a larger Chica-
go-based company. After selling Thumbtack Press I decided to
make Pleasanton my resident home, I've lived here since 2011.
I am a Gold Medal winner with the Society of Illustrators, Los Ange-
les and was a speaker at ICON on the subject of visual narrative in
new media. My work has been chosen for Al/AP in New York, and I
was a finalist for two MUSE Awards. I graduated from Otis College
of Art and Design and was fortunate to teach as a senior lecturer at
that institution for two years.
I spend all my free time with my motorcycles and my 11 year old
Son -he attends Hacienda School and is a proud Webelo in Pleasan-
ton Pack 966.
The title of my submission is:Albert 'Shrimp'Burns. It is a tribute to
the tenatious Motorcycle Hall of Famer who has East Bay roots and
- most notably - won three racing events in Pleasanton 100 years
ago(July 5th, 1915), including a 100-mile race. He was a fierce com-
petitor and a crowd favorite and one of, if not the, most popular
rider of his day.
Thank you for your consideration.
i;L. t fpry
Bay..01.wA rph:l warred
