ORDINANCE NO. 2126 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ADDING TO <br /> THE MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 20.70 EXPEDITED PERMITTING PROCESS FOR <br /> SMALL RESIDENTIAL ROOFTOP SOLAR SYSTEMS <br /> WHEREAS, the State of California, with the passage of AB 2188, has recognized the <br /> importance of promoting and encouraging the use of solar energy systems by limiting obstacles and <br /> minimizing the permitting costs for such systems; and <br /> WHEREAS, California Government Code section 65850.5 requires every city and county to <br /> adopt an ordinance that creates an expedited, streamlined permitting process for small residential <br /> rooftop solar systems; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of "green building" and wishes to <br /> continue to promote green building and alternative energy measures and seeks to implement <br /> Government Code section 65850.5 by adopting this ordinance. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. It adds to Pleasanton Municipal Code Title 20 (Buildings and Construction), a <br /> new Chapter 20.70 (Expedited Permitting Process for Small Residential Rooftop Solar Systems), as <br /> set forth in the attached Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 2. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days <br /> after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of <br /> Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City Clerk's office <br /> within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. <br /> SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its passage and adoption. <br /> The foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br /> Pleasanton on August 18, 2015 by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thome <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> And adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pleasanton on September <br /> 1, 2015 by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: Councilmember Olson <br /> Abstain: None <br /> 1 <br />
