ORDINANCE NO. 2126 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ADDING TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 20.70 EXPEDITED PERMITTING PROCESS FOR SMALL RESIDENTIAL ROOFTOP SOLAR SYSTEMS WHEREAS, the State of California, with the passage of AB 2188, has recognized the importance of promoting and encouraging the use of solar energy systems by limiting obstacles and minimizing the permitting costs for such systems; and WHEREAS, California Government Code section 65850.5 requires every city and county to adopt an ordinance that creates an expedited, streamlined permitting process for small residential rooftop solar systems; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the importance of "green building" and wishes to continue to promote green building and alternative energy measures and seeks to implement Government Code section 65850.5 by adopting this ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. It adds to Pleasanton Municipal Code Title 20 (Buildings and Construction), a new Chapter 20.70 (Expedited Permitting Process for Small Residential Rooftop Solar Systems), as set forth in the attached Exhibit A. Section 2. A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times", a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for fifteen (15) days in the City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its passage and adoption.
