THE CITY OF 2 <br /> ® - ° CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTO NTONa <br /> August 18, 2015 <br /> City Attorney <br /> Community Development <br /> TITLE: INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN EXPEDITED <br /> PERMITTING PROCESS FOR SMALL RESIDENTIAL ROOFTOP <br /> SOLAR SYSTEMS BY ADDING CHAPTER 20.70 TO THE <br /> PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> SUMMARY . . <br /> Assembly Bill 2188 requires that all cities and counties adopt an ordinance that creates <br /> an expedited permitting process for small rooftop solar system installations consistent <br /> with amendments to California Government Code Section 65850.5. The proposed <br /> ordinance will satisfy the requirements of AB 2188. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council waive the first reading and introduce the <br /> proposed ordinance establishing an expedited permitting process for small residential <br /> rooftop solar systems. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no financial impact to the City as the costs are recovered through existing <br /> building permit fees. <br />
