WHEREAS, Section 8809 of the Streets and Highways Code of the <br /> State of California provides that that the City Council <br /> at the time of fixing the annual tax rate may levy a <br /> special tax for the purpose of paying for lands pur- <br /> chased or to be purchased at tax sales, and also for <br /> the purpose of paying installments of assessments or <br /> the interest thereon which the City is required to pay <br /> under the provisions of Section 8806 of the Streets and <br /> Highways Code, provided said tax levy does not exceed <br /> ten cents per one hundred dollars of assessable property <br /> in any one year; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is provided that this tax shall be in addition to <br /> other taxes levied for City purposes but shall be col- <br /> lected at the same time and with the same penalties and <br /> interest as other taxes of the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, a levy of ten cents pursuant to Section 8809 would <br /> generate approximately $110 ,000 during 1974-75 fiscal <br /> year to pay for the cost advanced by the City of Pleas- <br /> anton general fund for delinquent Pleasanton Township <br /> County Water District, Assessment District No. 1 . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS : <br /> Section 1 . The tax rate for the City of Pleasanton for fiscal <br /> year 1974-75 is fixed as follows: <br /> District No . 1 <br /> General Fund 1. 29 <br /> Park and Recreation .35 <br /> Debt Service .06 <br /> Total 1. 70 <br /> District No . 2 <br /> General Fund 1. 29 <br /> Park and Recreation .35 <br /> Debt Service .06 <br /> Total 1. 70 <br /> -2- <br />
