CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> RESOLUTION No. 74-152 <br /> ENDORSING ADVANCED 911 PROJECT AND APPROVING PARTICIPATION <br /> IN THE ALAMEDA COUNTY 911 USERS TASK FORCE <br /> WHEREAS, Title 5 of the Government Code requires the provision of <br /> 911 emergency telephone service throughout the State of <br /> California before December 31, 1982; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Alameda desires to undertake a certain pro- <br /> ject designated the Automated 911 Trial in Alameda County <br /> with funding from the Law Enforcement Assistance Adminis- <br /> tration; and <br /> WHEREAS, said project will provide 911 emergency telephone service, <br /> such as only the City of Alameda presently has, throughout <br /> all of Alameda County, and <br /> WHEREAS, said project will permit each municipality to answer the <br /> 911 emergency calls originating within its borders and <br /> enable it to dispatch emergency assistance even when the <br /> caller is too young, ill, panicky, or confused to communi- <br /> cate his location; and <br /> WHEREAS, said project will serve as the national trial of such an <br /> advanced 911 system and be evaluated during a three year <br /> period beginning in the third quarter of 1976; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Pleasanton supports <br /> said project and will fully participate in the advanced <br /> 911 trial by permitting the installation of the necessary <br /> 911 telephone equipment; maintaining and/or permitting <br /> the collection of such communication records as may be <br /> reasonably required for the trial evaluation; and con- <br /> tinuing its public safety participation in the Alameda <br /> County 911 Users Task Force. <br /> I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of the resolu- <br />
