I I vik II CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA II STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 74-136 APPROVING PARTICIPATION BY THE CITY OF PLEASANTON IN A SHARED RECRUITMENT PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT AND ADDING §605 to RESOLUTION NO. 71-73 II (ADOPTION OF PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS) ( WHEREAS, Alameda County and cities within said county have partici- pated in the preparation of an Intergovernmental Personnel Act Grant Study to develop a shared recruiting and testing project for specified positions common to all participat- ing jurisdictions; and 11WHEREAS, participation in this program will enable the City to t' draw from applicants on a county-wide basis; and ' WHEREAS, participation in this program will enable the City to experience cost savings in the testing and recruitment { of personnel for various positions due to a present dupli- cation of effort by cities which would occur in the Ij absence of this participation; and II WHEREAS it is necessary to amend Resolution No. 71-73 (Adoption of Personnel Rules and Regulations to allow for continu- ous participation by the City in the shared recruitment program; and 11WHEREAS, the Assistant to the City Manager, Mr. Larry Miller, has met with the recognized employee associations of the City and received their approval of the revised language con- tained herein; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: i Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an agreement II on behalf of the City of Pleasanton to participate in a ji shared recruitment and testing program with the County of Alameda and other participating jurisdictions . Section 2 . The City Attorney is directed to prepare the agreement II in appropriate form for signature by the Mayor . Section 3 . Section 605 (Shared Recruitment and Testing) is hereby •
