BACKGROUND <br /> The City of Pleasanton has contracted with a consultant to provide Adult Crossing <br /> Guard Services for Pleasanton Elementary School children since 1999. The City has <br /> utilized All City Management Services to administer the Adult Crossing Guard Service <br /> program with oversight provided by the Police Department. The City of Pleasanton's <br /> contract with All City Management to provide Adult Crossing Guard Services expires in <br /> June, 2015. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> Staff conducted a Request for Proposal process to select an experienced, professional <br /> Crossing Guard Company to provide adult crossing guard services for the City of <br /> Pleasanton and Pleasanton Unified School District. Crossing Guard Services are <br /> provided at 21 locations totaling 180 days during the traditional school year and 20 days <br /> during the summer session. Adult Crossing Guards work 4 hours per day, 2 hours prior <br /> to the start of school and 2 hours after school lets out. The projected hours annually <br /> total 20,796 hours. <br /> The RFP was sent to twenty two potential vendors as well as posted on the City of <br /> Pleasanton's website. All City Management and another private security guard <br /> company responded with proposals. All City Management Services was selected based <br /> upon their competitive bid cost, their history of reliability, and their familiarity and <br /> expertise in providing Adult Crossing Guard Services in the City of Pleasanton and <br /> other jurisdictions. <br /> Submitted by: Fisc Review: Approved by: <br /> Da ' C.
