THE CITY OF ® _ r i,�r CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 9 pL£ASANTONO June 16, 2015 Community Services TITLE: APPROVE THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND PLEASANTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT REGARDING THE SHARED USE OF THE TENNIS COURTS AT AMADOR VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL SUMMARY The proposed shared use of the tennis courts at Amador Valley High School is a joint project between the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Unified School District (PUSD). The term is for an initial six (6) month trial period from June 2015 through December 2015. At the end of the six month trial, the agreement may be extended and/or expanded to include the tennis courts at Foothill High School after December 13, 2015 if the District and the City find the shared use mutually acceptable. On April 27, 2015, staff presented the draft Agreement at the joint meeting of the City Council and Board of Trustees. Both the City Council and Board of Trustees agreed to forward the Agreement to both the Board of Trustees and the City Council for further review and discussion. On May 26, 2015, the Board of Trustees approved the Agreement and requested that it be forwarded to the City Council on June 16, 2015 for their final review and consideration. RECOMMENDATION That the City Council approve the Agreement between the City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton Unified School District for the City's Shared Use of Amador Valley High School Tennis Courts FINANCIAL STATEMENT Please note that during this trial period, that there will be no charge for the public's drop- in use of the tennis courts. Therefore, the City and/or the District will not be receiving any compensation or capital improvements as part of this agreement. In the event of an extension and/or expansion of this Agreement, both parties may desire to include such consideration.
