Waived second reading and adopted Ordinance No. 2116 adding to the Municipal Code, Chapter <br /> 14.20 Recycled Water Use for Landscape Irrigation <br /> 9. Waived full reading and adopted Urgency Ordinance No. 2118 amending the Municipal Code <br /> Chapters 9.30 and 14.04 regarding water use restrictions to coincide with state law <br /> MOTION: It was m/s by Narum/Olson to approve the Consent Calendar, as amended. Motion passed <br /> by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brown, Narum, Olson, Pentin, Mayor Thorne <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> 10. Presentation of a proclamation recognizing May 4-8 as Small Business Week <br /> Economic Development Director Ott thanked the Council for its recognition, noting that more than 90% <br /> of Pleasanton businesses have 100 employees or less and truly represent the spirit of small business. <br /> Vic Malatesta, Pleasanton Downtown Association, thanked the Council for the acknowledgement and <br /> encouraged all to come out to First Wednesday the following evening. <br /> James Paxson also thanked the Council on behalf of the 650 businesses, most of which are considered <br /> small businesses, within Hacienda Business Park. Through his involvement with Hacienda, the <br /> Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Vitality Committee he has witnessed firsthand what this <br /> community invests to support such an important component of its business community. <br /> Scott Raty, Chamber of Commerce, thanked the Economic Development Department in particular for <br /> working with them, neighboring cities and the Small Business Association to produce the upcoming <br /> Tech Talk for Small Business held on July 22, 2015 from 9 to 11 a.m. <br /> Councilmember Narum read the proclamation recognizing May 4-8 as Small Business Week into the <br /> record. <br /> 11. Presentation of a proclamation recognizing May 8-17 as Affordable Housing Week <br /> Abby Goldware, MidPen Housing and East Bay Housing Organization thanked the Council for the <br /> recognition, which highlights the importance of affordable housing in creating sustainable and livable <br /> communities throughout the Bay Area. She said that MidPen is particularly excited over the progress <br /> made with regards to Kottinger Gardens and anticipates coming to the Council with an update within <br /> the next 2 months, including the goal to begin construction of the first phase of the project by March <br /> 2016. She thanked the Council again for the proclamation, which will be on display along with many <br /> others from throughout the Bay Area at Affordable Housing Week's kickoff event this Friday. <br /> City Council Minutes Page 2 of 13 May 5, 2015 <br />
