Again, thank you for writing and taking the time to be informed about our community. I hope you find this
information useful. Please let us know if you need additional clarification about the timeline or process.
Sincerely,
Nelson Fialho
City Manager
From:Ted S. Chu]
Sent: Sunday, May 17, 2015 10:30 PM
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: STOP the EPSP Development Project
Dear Mayor and City Council Members,
As you may have heard and witnessed during the community town hall meetings, citizens of Pleasanton are
deeply concerned about the EPSP plan and questioned the validity of many elements in the EIR. We welcome
the fact that the fate of the EPSP is on the agenda for the City Council Meeting on May 19th. We strongly urge
our elected officials to place the well-being and wish of the residents of Pleasant above any special interest
groups. The citizens of Pleasanton strongly oppose the massive sprawl in Pleasanton. While we understand
many hours have been put into the EIR,we found many data points in the report were derived from some
ancient"traffic models" and incorrect assumptions that do not represent the real traffic problem the Pleasanton
residents have to face every single day. In addition, we were told there's nothing can be done to improve traffic
over First Street leading to highway 680. If there is no mitigation possible, why continue with the house build
out that unquestionably will add thousands of more cars to the same streets that can no longer be expanded to
support the estimated traffic increase? It just does not make sense to continue with the aggressive EPSP
development. Also extending El Charro will only add more traffic in the streets of Pleasanton, especially
during morning and afternoon commute hours. How is that going help reduce traffic congestion if 1300
housing units were built? The citizens of Pleasanton clearly reject the massive development plan(EPSP) in
Pleasanton and the inaccuracy presented in the EIR. Instead, the citizens of Pleasanton wish our elected
officials to redirect resources, energy and efforts to work on solving real problems such as ever-worsening
traffic congestion, over-crowding schools and shortage of water, just to name a few. It's time to stop the EPSP
project once for all.
Best regards,
Ted Chu
Resident of Pleasanton
Click here to report this email as spam.
2
