J <br /> ✓ + <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 74-98 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RENOVATIONS TO THE SUNOL SEWAGE <br /> TREATMENT PLANT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has been under a cease and desist <br /> order issued by the Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> on April 24 , 1973; and <br /> WHEREAS, subsequent to said cease and desist order, the City be- <br /> came involved in litigation which resulted in an adverse <br /> decision to the City requiring that improvements be made <br /> to the City' s sewage treatment plant in order to abide <br /> by obligations made through annexation agreements with <br /> developers within the City, specifically Morrison Homes, <br /> Inc. ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated $100, 000 . 00 in emergency <br /> funds in January, 1974, due to structural failures which <br /> were believed to be imminent in the existing digester and <br /> the cost of said improvements have exceeded the amount <br /> originally budgeted; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of undertaking the necessary <br /> steps to enable the City to use the designed capacity of <br /> the City' s sewage treatment plant since it is necessary <br /> for said plant to be improved and reopened; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The staff is authorized to proceed with renovations <br /> to the Sunol Sewage Treatment Plant in order to have the <br /> cease and desist order which has been imposed by the <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board lifted and to enable <br /> City to use the designed capacity of the aforementioned <br /> plant within the criteria presently established by the <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board. <br /> Section 2 . The renovations hereby authorized include, but are not <br /> limited to, (1) replacement of the media in the tricklin• <br />
