THE CITY OF 9 <br /> -�-' 1 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT �V.1 <br /> pLEASANTON, <br /> May 5, 2015 <br /> Operation Services <br /> TITLE: ADOPT URGENCY ORDINANCE TO AMEND MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> CHAPTERS 9.30 and 14.04 REGARDING WATER USE RESTRICTIONS <br /> TO COINCIDE WITH STATE LAW <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Due to California's on-going drought, the State Water Resources Control Board has <br /> adopted emergency regulations restricting the use of water. The proposed urgency <br /> ordinance amends the municipal code to have previously adopted water conservation <br /> and water use restrictions coincide with these new statewide regulations. The <br /> amendment also clarifies timing for adjustment requests. The amendments are <br /> proposed as an urgency ordinance to be effective immediately to coincide with state <br /> law. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt an urgency ordinance to amend Municipal Code Chapters 9.30 [Water <br /> Conservation Plan] and 14.04 [Regulation of Water System and Water Service Fees] to <br /> have water use restrictions coincide with State law. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> No expected impact. <br />
