BORTOLOTTO & <br /> COMPANY FOR THE ANNUAL STREETS RESURFACING AND <br /> PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE - PROJECT, CIP NO. 135003 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The project consisted of resurfacing approximately 1,320,000 square feet of pavement <br /> surface and preparatory work for slurry-sealing approximately 1,160,000 square feet of <br /> pavement surface along various city streets. City Council awarded this construction <br /> contract to G. Bortolotto & Company on June 3, 2014. Construction of the project is <br /> complete and ready for City Council acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the project as complete. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the project. <br /> 3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of$144,054.43 to G. Bortolotto & <br /> Company thirty days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the transfer of the project unspent balance in the amount of $30,261 to <br /> the Street Capital Improvement Program (CIP) fund balance. <br /> 5. Authorize the reallocation of funding types within the project to allow the timely use <br /> of Measure B funds and Vehicle Registration Fee (VRF) funds. $1,093,216 in Gas <br /> Tax and Streets CIP fund dollars in the project will be replaced with Measure B <br /> funds ($750,000) and VRF funds ($343,216). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project totaled $2,920,438 as outlined in Attachment 1. Expenditures <br /> totaled $2,890,177, leaving an unspent balance of $30,261. To allow the timely use of <br /> Measure B and VRF funds, staff is recommending the reallocation of funding sources <br /> for the project. $1,093,216 in Gas Tax and Streets CIP funds, both of which do not <br /> have restrictions on the time of use, will be switched out with Measure B and VRF funds <br /> from other projects (Annual Resurfacing #145003, Annual Slurry Sealing #145004, <br /> Annual Curb/Gutter Replacement #145009 and Annual Sidewalk Maintenance <br /> #145012). Each of these projects is eligible to use both Gas Tax and Streets CIP funds. <br />
