Mayor Thome asked and Mr. Fialho confirmed that property owners would be given the opportunity to <br /> remove the source of the nuisance prior to the city taking further action. <br /> Mr. Fialho explained that this item authorizes staff to notify property owners of the need to abate. A <br /> public hearing will be scheduled for April 21, 2015 to assess the conditions on those properties <br /> identified, at which time the Council will set into motion a timeline for removal of the weeds and/or <br /> debris by May 31, 2015. <br /> Operation Services <br /> 8. Presentation of a Proclamation proclaiming March 2015 as American Red Cross Month <br /> Councilmember Olson invited Cortes Saunders Storno, Board of Directors of the American Red Cross <br /> and Bay Area Chapter and past Chair of the Alameda County Leadership Council, to the podium. <br /> Ms. Saunders Stomo stated that the month of March has been recognized as Red Cross Month by <br /> each American president since Roosevelt in 1943. While the Proclamation discusses Red Cross efforts <br /> on a national scale, the organization has a strong local presence. In 2014 local volunteers worked with <br /> both police and fire departments to respond to over 170 incidents. She thanked the Council, Pleasanton <br /> Police Department and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department for their collaboration and <br /> preparedness. She also advised the public that the Red Cross has an app for both iPhone and Android <br /> devices that provides disaster notifications and preparedness information. <br /> Councilmember Olson read the Proclamation into the record. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> 11. Public Hearing: PUD-108, Bradley Blake, BHV CenterStreet Properties, LLC — Consider <br /> introduction of an ordinance approving an application for Planned Unit Development (PUD) <br /> Development Plan to construct an approximately 112,000-square-foot shopping center and <br /> related site improvements on approximately 11.5 acres of the Retail/Commercial site at Staples <br /> Ranch. Zoning for the property is PUD-C (Planned Unit Development—Commercial) District <br /> Associate Planner Weinstein presented the staff report, stating the applicant has requested approval of <br /> an application for a PUD Development Plan to construct a shopping center and related site <br /> improvements at the southwest quadrant of El Charro Road and Stoneridge Drive. The project was <br /> anticipated as part of the Stoneridge Drive Specific Plan Amendment for Staples Ranch adopted in <br /> 2009 and would comprise approximately 11.5 acres of the 124 acre area. While the Staples Ranch <br /> Specific Plan anticipated up to 120,000 feet of commercial space on the site, this project weighs in at <br /> City Council Minutes Page 2 of 6 March 3,2015 <br />
