10,300 NF of carryover water available for 2015 demands, now that the Delta is flowing <br /> again. <br /> In addition to the state's situation, the efforts of local water retailers and Zone 7 have <br /> begun to lead to some water supply alternatives for 2015 including the fact that Zone 7 <br /> now has a tentative agreement to purchase an additional 300 acre/ft from Yuba County <br /> Water for a five year period at a fixed rate of approximately $470 ac/ft. In addition, <br /> Zone 7 has approved a one year purchase of 2,500 ac/ft of water with Contra Costa <br /> Water at a cost of $200 an ac/ft. The Contra Costa County purchase still requires state <br /> approval to finalize the transaction and both purchases represent an improvement, <br /> particularly if there is no increase in the state's water allocation. Staff attended a <br /> meeting on February 27th in Walnut Creek to hear an update from Felicia Marcus the <br /> Chair of the State Water Resources Control Board who is in charge of the regulations <br /> and drought requirements for the State. She is very concerned about 2015 even though <br /> the outlook is better than 2014 and urges caution in regards to saving as much water as <br /> possible since the drought is not over. The Department of Water Resources completed <br /> its third manual snow survey on March 2, 2015 and recorded that it is 19% of normal for <br /> this time of year for the Sierra Mountains. The Federal government also announced on <br /> February 27, 2015 that it will again release 0% allocation to agriculture for 2015. <br /> Sub : 9.
