1-9.02 Adding Parking Lots — Should the City desire the contractor to sweep additional <br /> parking lots, the City will provide a 30-day advance notice to the contractor. The City will pay <br /> the contractor for the added parking lots based on the pro rata increase based on the added square <br /> footage of new area compared to the previous. <br /> 1-10 Weather - In the event of heavy rain or other severe weather conditions, the <br /> scheduled sweeping service may be suspended. A request to not sweep will be made by the <br /> Contractor and accepted or denied by the City within eight hours of receipt. <br /> 1-11 Water - Contractor shall obtain a bulk water meter from City of Pleasanton Utility <br /> Billing Division and a recycled water meter from Dublin San Ramon Sanitary District (DSRSD) <br /> for the street sweeping operation. The deposit service charge fee on the water meter and the cost <br /> of the water used shall be borne by the Contractor. Recycled water shall be used as the primary <br /> water source when at all possible. <br /> 1-12 Dust Control - The proper volume and pressure of water will be supplied by the <br /> sweeper and shall be in good working condition at all times to adequately control dust during the <br /> sweeping operations. <br /> 1-13 Traffic Counters - The Contractor is cautioned that at various times and locations, <br /> the City will temporarily install portable traffic counters which utilize a hose placed in the <br /> roadway. When an area with a counter is swept, care should be taken to avoid the counter hose. <br /> 1-14 Speed - The Contractor shall operate the sweepers between three and five miles <br /> per hour when sweeping, unless it can be proven, to the satisfaction of the Assistant Director <br /> Operations Services or designee, the sweeper can operate at a higher speed and still operate <br /> efficiently. <br /> 1-15 Call Backs - Whenever, in the opinion of the Director, a section of street is <br /> inadequately swept, the Contractor shall, within 24 hours after notification, re-sweep the section <br /> in question and may, at the discretion of the Director, forfeit One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for <br /> each time a street is inadequately swept as liquidate damages. No additional payment will be <br /> made for callback sweeping. <br /> 1-16 Disposal - Contractor shall dump, at no cost, all street debris collected pursuant to <br /> this contract at the Disposal Transfer Station located at 3110 Busch Road, Pleasanton, California. <br /> No dumpster or stockpile sites will be allowed, unless authorized by the Assistant Director of <br /> Operations Services or designee. <br />
