1-3.01 Downtown Route — Main Street (from Bernal Avenue North to Stanley <br /> Boulevard) shall have the entire street surface swept, from curb to curb, including areas within <br /> button-designated medians and the side streets between (Peters Ave. to Main St., First St. to <br /> Main St., and Railroad Ave. to Main St.) Downtown sweeping shall be twice a week on <br /> Mondays and Fridays between 5:30am and 7:00am. Parking lots in/near residential areas <br /> shall not be swept prior to 7:00am and not after 10:00pm. <br /> 1-3.02 New City Streets—New streets may be added by the Assistant Director during the <br /> term of this Agreement. Such streets shall be added to the street sweeping schedule and swept in <br /> accordance with TABLE I above upon receipt of notice of the streets to be added by the <br /> Contractor. New street miles will be added to TABLE 1 and adjustment to the payment schedule <br /> on a pro-rata basis. <br /> 1-4 Days and Hours of Operation - Scheduled service shall be Monday through Friday <br /> only. Sweeping of residential areas shall not start before 8:00am or continue after 4:30pm. <br /> Commercial areas shall be swept between 7:00pm and 6:00am. Sweeping shall be scheduled <br /> to maximize the area of streets being swept by minimizing interference by parked vehicles. <br /> Sweeping shall be scheduled and done in such a way as to minimize noise complaints in <br /> residential areas and parking lots adjacent to residential areas. Downtown sweeping shall be <br /> twice a week on Mondays and Fridays between 5:30am and 7:00am. The Assistant Director <br /> may require revisions in the hours and/or manner of operation as necessary to maximize <br /> sweeping coverage, to minimize noise complaints, or to coincide with City staff working hours. <br /> 1-5 Holidays - There will be no sweeping on the following observed holidays: New <br /> Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, <br /> Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Contractor shall perform scheduled sweeping on the <br /> day before said holiday except when that day would be a weekend; then scheduled sweeping <br /> would be performed the day following the holiday. <br /> 1-6 Sweeping Routes - Sweeping routes shall be adhered to by the Contractor. <br /> Contractor to provide a description of how it plans to meet the sweeping route schedule, which is <br /> subject to approval by the Assistant Director or designated representative. Sweeping schedules <br /> are to be on the same day of the week each month for the specific route, e.g., second Tuesday of <br /> each month, etc. Contractor shall submit a calendar schedule designating the routes to the City <br /> for its approval. Areas scheduled for sweeping shall not coincide with same day garbage <br /> pick-up service. <br /> 1-7 Vehicles - It is understood that if vehicles are parked on the streets when services <br /> are being performed by the Contractor, then Contractor's operations will be impeded and <br /> Contractor will be required to bypass said parked vehicles. In such events, the rates charged by <br /> Contractor shall not be reduced. <br /> 1-7.01 Level of Cleanliness - Level of cleanliness shall be defined as the absence of <br /> "street debris" in the streets and gutters upon the completion of the sweeping operation. Payment <br /> will be for one pass only, and no separate payment will be made for a second pass needed to <br /> remove street debris. <br /> 1-7.02 Hand-Sweeping/Vacuuming - Contractor shall remove by hand-sweeping / <br /> vacuuming all visible debris in and around "porkchop" islands, medians, parking block or any <br /> other area not handled by the mechanical sweeper. Compensation for hand-sweeping/vacuuming <br /> shall be considered as included in other terms of work, and no separate payment will be made. <br />
