THE CITY OF
- t ==' "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 4
pLEASANTONa
March 3, 2015
Community Development
Planning Division
TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE
TO ADD A ZONING PROCESSING FEE FOR BEEKEEPING
APPLICATION
SUMMARY
On February 17, 2015, the City Council introduced and on March 3, 2015, it adopted an
ordinance adding a new Chapter 18.103 (Beekeeping) to the Pleasanton Municipal
Code establishing a permit process and performance standards for beekeeping on land
in the A (Agricultural) zoning district; for properties with detached, single-family homes
located in the R-1 (One-Family Residential) zoning district and RM (Multi-Family
Residential) zoning district; and for properties with detached, single-family homes
located in the Downtown Specific Plan Area. By this resolution (Attachment 1), staff is
recommending that the Master Fee Schedule be amended to add a $150.00 Planning
Division zoning processing fee for beekeeping applications.
This amount is consistent with the Planning Division's application fee for a Conditional
Use Permit, which requires similar investment of staff time.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the attached resolution amending the Master Fee Schedule.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Staff has researched the training and equipment costs associated with monitoring
beekeeping operations and believes that such costs, along with the costs of reviewing
beekeeping applications, can be accommodated through fees collected from
beekeeping applicants.
Submitted by:: Fisc view: Approved y:
Brian Dolan Tina Olson Nelson Fialho
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
•
Community Development
Attachment:
1.
