Employee contributions to the EPMC shall be <br /> made pre-tax in accordance with applicable law. <br /> For all "Classic Members" as defined by CaIPERS: <br /> Effective as soon as administratively feasible, but not prior to January I, 2015, employees classified as <br /> "Classic Members" by CaIPERS will pay an additional .5% of the employer's rate for a total PERS <br /> contribution of 9.5%. <br /> Effective July 4, 2015, "Classic Member" employees will pay an additional .5% of the employer's rate <br /> for a total PERS contribution of 10%. <br /> Effective July 2, 2016. "Classic Member" employees will pay an additional .5% of the employer's rate <br /> for a total PERS contribution of 10.5% <br /> Effective July 1, 2017, "Classic Member" employees will pay an additional 1.5% of the employer's rate <br /> for a total PERS contribution of 12%. <br /> These contributions shall be reported as equal sharing of normal cost by Classic Members, in accordance <br /> with PEPRA, as soon as administratively feasible by CaIPERS. <br /> For all "New Members" as defined by CaIPERS: <br /> Employees classified as "New Members" by CaIPERS will pay a Member Contribution as determined by <br /> CaIPERS under the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act (PEPRA). The current member <br /> contribution rate and the member contribution rate effective July 1, 2015 is 10.5%. <br /> Section 18. Fire Inspectors <br /> The Department recognizes the importance of maintaining a core of trained fire investigators. <br /> Therefore, Fire Inspectors will be encouraged to participate as members of the Alameda County Arson <br /> Task Force. <br /> Section 19. Uniforms <br /> Uniform Allowance <br /> The Department shall provide at its expense required protective clothing and footwear.
