X. MONITORING, MEASUREMENT, AND PROGRAM MODIFICATIONS <br /> A. Introduction <br /> This section of the SSMP outlines the process that the City will follow to evaluate the effectiveness of <br /> the SSMP and to identify updates that may be needed for a more effective program. <br /> B. Regulatory Requirements for the Monitoring, Measurement, and Program <br /> Modifications Section <br /> State GWDR Requirement: <br /> The Enrollee shall: <br /> (e) Maintain relevant information that can be used to establish and prioritize appropriate <br /> SSMP activities; <br /> (f) Monitor the implementation and, where appropriate, measure the effectiveness of each <br /> element of the SSMP; <br /> (g) Assess the success of the preventative maintenance program; <br /> (h) Update program elements, as appropriate, based on monitoring or performance <br /> evaluations; and <br /> (i) Identify and illustrate SSO trends, including: frequency, location, and volume. <br /> C. Performance Measures <br /> The indicators that the City will use to measure the performance of its wastewater collection <br /> system and the effectiveness of its SSMP are: <br /> • Total number of SSOs <br /> • Number of SSOs by cause (roots, grease, debris, pipe or pump station failure, and other) <br /> • Volume of sewage spilled, recovered and reaching water(s) of the state <br /> D. Performance Monitoring and Program Changes <br /> The City will evaluate the performance of its wastewater collection system and SSMP effectiveness <br /> annually using the performance measures described above. Results of the evaluation will be recorded <br /> on the SSMP Audit Form.The City will also evaluate the effectiveness of individual SSMP elements.
