Pipe, full <br /> circle clamps, and dresser couplings are stored and maintained in minimum quantities for most <br /> emergencies. <br /> Training <br /> The City uses a combination of in-house classes, on the job training, CWEA conferences, seminars, and <br /> other training opportunities to train its Utilities staff. The City strongly encourages staff to advance their <br /> CWEA certification grade, provides financial support for certifications and CWEA, and provides training <br /> and advancement opportunities. Senior staff is actively involved in leadership roles in Bayworks(CWEA) <br /> and Alameda Clean Water Program. <br /> Annual training on the City's SSMP and SSORP is conducted for all Utility employees. The City also <br /> maintains an ongoing safety training program that addresses both general and task-specific safety <br /> issues.The Tailgate Schedule lists safety training activities for the Utilities Division Program. This <br /> schedule is updated annually. <br /> The City's contract language requires contractors working in the wastewater collection system to <br /> provide training for their employees in the activities that may cause SSOs and in responding to <br /> contractor-caused SSOs. The contractor must also follow OSHA Confined Space Protocols. <br /> 20IPage <br />
