As indicated earlier they will hold a joint meeting with the School Board in March where the primary topic will be the updated demographer's report and development of the East Side. Mayor Thome reported that he relinquished his seat on several committees, one of which he was particularly fond (LAVTA), in favor of accepting his new position as President of the Alameda County Mayors' Conference and a voting position on the LAFCO Board. Councilmember Pentin reported on his new assignment to the League of California Cities' Transportation Committee. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:58 p.m. The Council extended a tribute to our nation's men and women serving in the military. We wish to honor the memories of those who have died in past wars in defense of our country, including those who have died in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
