DISCUSSION <br />This project is part of the City's preventative maintenance program and is expected to <br />extend the life of the streets, thereby reducing long -term operation and maintenance <br />costs. This project is expected to improve roadway surface traction and prolong the life <br />of the streets. <br />A change order totaling $6,412 was issued that did not change the scope of work <br />performed, but accounted for variations in quantities actually completed versus quantities <br />estimated by the project engineer prior to award of the contract. <br />The final project funding and expenditures are summarized in Attachment 1 to this report, <br />indicating total project expenditure of $233,173 and remaining funds in CIP No. 135004 <br />of $116,827. <br />All of the work has since been completed to the City's satisfaction.
