CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 03-102 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF WORKERS' <br /> COMPENSATION CLAIMS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />there is now pending before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board cases concerning a <br />retired police lieutenant, Paul Helms, and a retired Lead Parks Maintenance Worker, Robert <br />Borunda; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City Attorney has requested authority from the City Council to settle these matters in the <br />mounts discussed in the memoranda from the City's Human Resources Manager to the City <br />Attorney; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such requests are reasonable and justified under the circumstances. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />The City Attomey is authorized to settle the above-mentioned cases in the amounts not to exceed <br />that requested by the City's Human Resources Manager. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOiNG WAS DULY AND REGULARLY <br />ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT A MEETiNG HELD ON <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 2003 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Ayala, Brozosky, Campbell, Hosterman, and Mayor Pico <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Michael H.
