NOTICE OF ELECTION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1711. <br /> <br /> Whereas, in accordance with the provisions of the State law <br />governing municipal elections, it becomes the duty of the council <br />Of the Town of Pleasanton to give notice of such election and to <br />perform such other acts as are required by law; now therefore, <br /> <br /> Be it Resolved by the Council of the Town of Pleasanton, that <br />public notice is hereby given that an election will be held in the <br />Town of Pleasanton on Tuesday, the 9th day of April, A.D., 1940 <br /> <br />for the purpose of electing <br /> Three (3) councilmen to <br /> One (1) clerk to serve <br /> <br />the following officers: <br /> <br />serve for the full term of fo ur years; <br />for the full term of four years; <br /> <br /> One (1) treasurer to serve for the full term of four years; <br />Be it further Resolved that said election be conducted in <br />accordance with law and that said election be held in one precinct <br />to be known as consolidated Election Precinct "A", said consolidated <br />precinct to be ccmposod of three election precincts in the Town <br />of Pleasanton, the boundaries of such precincts to be the same as <br />those prescribed by the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County for <br />State end County elections; and <br /> <br /> Be it further resolved, that the polling place of said precinct <br />shall be at the Odd Fellows Hall, on the south side of St. Marys <br />Street, between Main St., and Pleasanton Avenue in the Town of <br />Pleasanton, California; and that said polls shall remain open for <br />eight (8) consecutive hours, to-wit from 1~:30 o'clock A.~. until <br />6~30 o,clock P.M. and be it <br /> <br /> Further Resolved that the town clerk be and he is hereby <br />authorized and instructed to cause to be pu~liahed in the Pleasanton <br />Times such notices as are required to be published by law in <br />conjunction with the aforesaid election; <br /> <br /> <br />
