157. The Fire Prevention Bureau reviews building/civil drawings for conceptual on-site <br /> fire mains and fire hydrant locations only. Plan check comments and approvals <br /> DO NOT INCLUDE: <br /> a. Installation of the on-site fire mains and fire hydrants. Specific installation <br /> drawings submitted by the licensed underground fire protection contractor <br /> shall be submitted to the Fire Prevention Bureau for approval. <br /> b. Backflow prevention or connections to the public water mains. <br /> 158. Emergency vehicle access roads: <br /> • Shall be a minimum of 20 feet in width. A clear height free of obstructions <br /> (power, cable, telephone lines, tree limbs, etc.) shall be provided. This <br /> clearance shall be a minimum of 13 feet-6 inches. Inside turning radius of <br /> 41 feet and outside turning radius of 52 feet shall be provided. <br /> • All exterior portions of buildings must be within 200 feet of an access road. <br /> Yard and parking areas may be able to be located farther than 200 feet <br /> from access roads, depending on the specific use. <br /> • On-site access ways and internal drives shall be designated as fire lanes <br /> and identified as such by red curb striping and posted with signs at <br /> locations approved by the Fire Department. Signs shall be according to <br /> state standards and read "No Parking - Fire Lane" and must be shown on <br /> the plans. <br /> 159. Fire department aerial apparatus: <br /> • Buildings or portions of buildings or facilities exceeding 30 feet (9144 mm) <br /> in height above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access shall be <br /> provided with approved fire apparatus access roads capable of <br /> accommodating fire department aerial apparatus. Fire apparatus access <br /> roads shall have a minimum unobstructed width of 26 feet in the <br /> immediate vicinity of any building or portion of building more than 30 feet <br /> (9144 mm) in height. At least one of the required access routes meeting <br /> this condition shall be located within a minimum of 15 feet (4572 mm) and <br /> a maximum of 30 feet (9144 mm) from the building, and shall be <br /> positioned parallel to one entire side of the building. <br /> • The following schedule for NO PARKING signs shall apply: <br /> Width Requirements <br /> 36 Feet or Greater No Requirements <br /> Between 28 and 36 Feet Post one side <br /> Between 20 and 28 feet Post both sides <br /> Less than 20 feet Not permitted <br /> Aerial Ops -Width Requirements <br /> 42 Feet or Greater No Requirements <br /> Between 34 and 42 Feet Post one side <br /> Between 26 and 34 feet Post both sides <br /> Less than 26 feet Not permitted <br /> PUD-106, Chrylser-Jeep-Dodge Page 29 <br />
