RESOLUTION NO. 14-708 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br /> APPROVING THE BERNAL AVENUE AT I-680 GATEWAY MONUMENT SIGN <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton proposes to install a gateway monument sign within <br /> the Bernal Avenue and 1-680 operational highway right of way, and the project site is within <br /> Pleasanton's city limits; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton requests that Caltrans approve the installation of the <br /> gateway monument within the Bernal Avenue and 1-680 highway operational right of way; and <br /> WHEREAS, the expected life span for the proposed gateway monument sign is 60 plus <br /> years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the construction for the proposed gateway monument sign is expected to <br /> start in spring 2015 and be completed in summer 2015; and <br /> WHEREAS, Caltrans requires that the local agency adopt a resolution supporting the <br /> proposed gateway monument. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The City of Pleasanton approves and supports the gateway monument <br /> content and location as shown on Exhibit A. <br /> SECTION 2. The City of Pleasanton is committed to fund the design, construction, and <br /> maintenance of the gateway monument sign. The City is committed to ensure maintenance of <br /> the gateway monument, including timely graffiti removal/repair, and removal (or restoration) at <br /> the end of its life span. <br /> SECTION 3. The Director of Community Development or his designee is hereby <br /> authorized to execute and file any necessary applications for the design, construction, and <br /> maintenance of the landscaping and gateway monument at Bernal Avenue at 1-680. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on September 2, 2014. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 2ntl day of <br /> September, 2014 by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmember Brown, Cook-Kallio, Narum, Pentin, Mayor Thome <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain:: None <br /> Kare iaz, City CIe k, <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> /4onathan P.
