Karen Diaz
Subject: FW: City Growth SUP!Lett MAT n[ . L
Provided to the City QouMi
After Qiatribution of Paofte8
From: i/....;
Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2014 10:50 AM Date
To: Mayor and City Council
Subject: City Growth
We feel strongly that Pleasanton is headed in the wrong direction with the amount of high density
housing that is being allowed to be developed in our city.
My husband and I came to Pleasanton to live 20 years ago because of its small town feel, nice
neighborhoods, good schools and low crime levels. Prior to moving here, we always looked to
Pleasanton favorably with their limited building in the hills and the voter approved urban caps in order
to keep growth smart and in check. We did not see that with neighboring towns. Now, we currently
face severe water shortages, schools that are bursting with students and heavy traffic
congestion. We do not want Pleasanton to look like Dublin. We want Pleasanton to continue to look
like Pleasanton.
My husband and I attended a couple of city planning meetings regarding the east side specific
plans. My husband spoke of his concern of safety and crime that would come with high density
housing especially low income housing. He's been in law enforcement in Alameda County for over 35
years and is quite aware of the challenges other communities face and what it would mean to
Pleasanton.
Please seriously reconsider modifying the General Plan to include more high density housing. Think
cautiously about the direction we want this city to take as well as how the city would need to prepare
itself for such a change. Listen to the public. I think they share similar sentiments.
Sincerely,
Corinne Jay
Pleasanton, CA 94566
Click here to report this email as spam.
1
