A small public plaza would be located
at the corner (intersection of Vervais Dr. and Main
St.). This plaza would be the entry to the Arroyo
and the creek trail, via both a broad stairway and a
generous ADA-compatible ramp.
The Master Plan recommends a bus shelter along
the short Main St. frontage. This structure should
be designed in such a way as to provide good sight
distance for cars turning right onto Santa Rita Rd.
from Vervais Dr. Another structure (identical, but
not a bus shelter) is proposed for a location directly
across Main St. These two would form an entry
statement, marking the entry from the north into
the downtown area.
A 12-space parking area would be located on
Vervais Dr., with a lawn area, shaded by flowering
trees, between parking and plaza. The lawn and plaza
would each be possible sites for outdoor sculpture.
ARROYO GREEN AT MAIN
51
