THE CITY OF 17 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL EASANTONo <br /> July 15, 2014 <br /> Operation Services <br /> TITLE: UPDATE ON THE STAGE 3 WATER SHORTAGE AND LOCAL <br /> EMERGENCY DECLARATION <br /> SUMMARY <br /> A Stage 3 water shortage was declared by the City Council in May, and the City <br /> implemented a mandatory 25% reduction in water usage. Since that time, staff has <br /> directed considerable resources toward addressing public inquiries regarding specific <br /> drought related questions and on informing the public of the requirements and the <br /> overall drought emergency. This report provides an update on water usage and the <br /> overall drought situation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> No recommendation necessary, just receive update on drought progress to date. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> No financial impacts from this update. <br />
