Mr. Fialho stated, 'It changes the <br /> landscape a bit as it relates to the Vineyard Avenue specific plan and would require some time." <br /> Councilmember Narum asked, "Have you had any luck in identifying a space in the northwestern <br /> part where it would be suitable for an elementary school." Superintendent Ahmadi responded, <br /> "That's what President Hintzke referred to earlier and we are doing an RFP with a land broker, to <br /> locate land and to where it's appropriate to have the most need." <br /> Trustee Grant commented all of the Trustees, Mayor Thorne and the City Councilmembers plus Mr. <br /> Fiahlo and Ms. Ahmadi for the partnerships between the district and the city which currently exits. He <br /> stated, "We have saves thousands of dollars working together in how the city was laid out. There's <br /> more opportunities where we can take infrastructures and open space in this community for projects <br /> which can be used throughout the day and evening and the expense of those would be shared. This <br /> is the generation of leadership for Pleasanton. We work collaboratively well for this community." <br /> Councilmember Cook-kallio commented, "I appreciate your kind words as feeling is mutual." She <br /> shared her experience of a conference she attended in Yosemite recently which spoke about what <br /> defines a health community. One of the questions was, "Do you have a regular established <br /> instituionalized way of talking to your school board?There are few cities who have the similar liaison <br /> tha we are here in Pleasanton. This was one of the highlights that determined if your city had a <br /> health relationship with your board and to be in constant conversation and what was important to the <br /> community. I was delighted to hear this as this is important and thank you forhosting this meeting to <br /> speak on topics that are important to all of us." <br /> Superintendent Ahmadi thanked everyone for their support as well and said, "Our students are a <br /> very important part of this community and are our future leaders." <br /> Trustee Bowser commented, "This is my fourth joint city meeting and it was nice to have postivie <br /> upbeat with students and the action items that our these agencies are responsible for. It's great for <br /> the public to see us together having these discussions and feedback and questions. I really enjoyed <br /> the format." <br /> Mayor Thorne commented that since 1995 he's been on the City Liaison Committee and stated, "It's <br /> collaborative and it's a model for a lot of cities." He thanked the distirct for giving him some really <br /> good results to report out in the city. <br /> 7.
