-- CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 922 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON BY ADDING CHAPTER 8, TITLE IV, TO REQUIRE <br /> BUSINESS PROPRIETORS TO EXCLUDE MINORS FROM ANY ROOM OR <br /> PLACE WHERE DEVICES, CONTRIVANCES, INSTRUMENTS OR PARA- <br /> PHERNALIA IS USED, ALTERED OR MODIFIED FOR THE PUROPOSE <br /> OF SMOKING, INJECTING OR CONSUMING MARIJUANA, HASHISH, <br /> PCP, OR ANY CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IS DISPLAYED OR OFFERED <br /> FOR SALE <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Title IV of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton <br /> pertaining to Health, Safety, Moral and General Welfare, is hereby <br /> amended by adding Chapter 8 (Sale and Display of Narcotic and Other <br /> Paraphernalia), to read as follows: <br /> Chapter 8. SALE AND DISPLAY OF NARCOTIC AND OTHER PARAPHERNALIA <br /> § 4-8.30 Minors. No owner, manager proprietor or other <br /> person in charge of any room in any place of busi- <br /> ness selling, or displaying for the purpose of sale, <br /> any device, Contrivance', instrument or paraphernalia <br /> used, alterea or modified for ~he purpose of smoking, <br /> injecting or consuming marijuana, hashish, PCP, or <br /> any controlled substance, as defined in the Health <br /> and Safety Code of the State of California, other <br /> than prescription drugs and devices to ingest or in- <br /> ject prescription drugs, as well as roach clips and <br /> rollers designed for the smoking of the foregoing, <br /> shall allow or permit any person under the age of <br /> eighteen (18) years to be, remain in, enter or visit <br /> such room unless such minor person is accompanied by <br /> one of his or her parents, or by his or her legal <br /> guardian. <br /> <br /> § 4-8.31 Minors - Excluded. A person under the age of <br /> eighteen (18) years shall not be, remain in, enter <br /> or visit any room in any place used for the sale or <br /> displaying for sale, devices, contrivances, instru- <br /> ments or paraphernalia used, altered or modified for <br /> the purpose of smoking, injecting or consuming mari- <br /> juana, hashish, PCP, or any controlled substance, <br /> other than prescription drugs and devices to ingest <br /> or inject prescription drugs, including roach clips <br /> and rollers designed and used for smoking the fore- <br /> - going, unless such person is accompanied by one of <br /> his or her parents or his or her legal guardian. <br /> <br /> III <br /> <br /> <br />
