Mr. Fialho said staff would be forced to regroup and assured her they would not commit these funds without an equal agreement from all parties concerned. MOTION: It was rn/s by Narum/Brown, to approve submission of a $1.25 million Section 108 Loan Guarantee application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide financial assistance to the Axis Community Clinic expansion project and authorize the City to enter into a Public Participating Jurisdictions (PPJ) with the cities of Livermore and Dublin and the County of Alameda to repay the loan. Motion passed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmembers Brown, Cook-Kallio, Narum, Mayor Thorne Noes: None Absent: Councilmember Pentin MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL- None COUNCIL REPORTS Mayor Thorne reported that he and Councilmember Cook_Kailio attended Legislative Action Day as part of their work with the League of California Cities. He said they were afforded the opportunity to help Assemblywoman Bonilla to introduce a new bill governing massage parlors. Councilmember Cook-Kailio said it was a very interesting experience and that she felt relatively fortunate after hearing the types of issues that other jurisdictions are grappling with She noted that this is Teacher Appreciation Week and extended a heartfelt thanks to those who have taught her and her children. Councilmember Brown reported that Amador High School's We the People team finished second in the nation. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:26 p.m. The Council extended a tribute to our nation's men and women serving in the military. We wish to honor the memories of those who have died in past wars in defense of our country, including those who have died in the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
