ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ADDING <br /> CHAPTER 17.26 OF TITLE 17 AND AMENDING CHAPTERS 18.36 AND 18.88 OF <br /> TITLE 18 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO COMPLY WITH THE 2012 <br /> CLIMATE ACTION PLAN PERTAINING TO TRANSIT INCENTIVES AND <br /> DEDICATED PARKING SPACES FOR ALTERNATIVE VEHICLES, AS FILED <br /> UNDER CASE P14-0001. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a Climate Action Plan on February 7, 2012; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Climate Action Plan includes a number of strategies, goals and <br /> actions for reducing municipal and community-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Action TR 1-6, TDM 2-7 and TDM 2-10 call for changes to the <br /> municipal development codes to provide transit benefits for residents, and provide <br /> dedicated parking for carpool/vanpool, car share, and other alternative vehicles; and <br /> WHEREAS, the adoption of the Climate Action Plan was part of the project <br /> which was described in the Supplemental Environmental Impact Report certified by the <br /> City Council on January 4, 2012, and the proposed amendment is consistent with the <br /> Climate Action Plan and therefore no further environmental assessment need be <br /> conducted to adopt this code amendment; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 26, 2014, the Planning Commission <br /> recommended that the City Council amend Title 17 and Title 18 of the Pleasanton <br /> Municipal Code to provide transit benefits for residents, and provide dedicated parking <br /> for carpool/vanpool, car share, and other alternative vehicles; and <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 15, 2013, the City Council reviewed the report <br /> of the Director of Community Development and the recommendations of the Planning <br /> Commission regarding amendment of Title 17 and Title 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal <br /> Code regarding transit benefits for residents, and dedicated parking for carpool/vanpool, <br /> car share, and other alternative vehicles. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the proposed amendments to the <br /> Pleasanton Municipal Code are exempt from further environmental review and are <br /> consistent with the Pleasanton Climate Action Plan and the General Plan. <br /> 1 <br />
