THE CITY OF <br /> 6 <br /> _ _ ° rd ° e ' II °°' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> LAS1TGNC <br /> April 15, 2014 <br /> Community Development <br /> Planning Division <br /> TITLE: INTRODUCTION OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 17 AND <br /> TITLE 18 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO IMPLEMENT <br /> THE CLIMATE ACTION PLAN BY REQUIRING DEDICATED PARKING <br /> SPACES FOR ALTERNATIVE VEHICLES AND BY PROVIDING A <br /> TRANSIT INCENTIVE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The subject ordinance (Attachment 1) is a City-initiated amendment to the Pleasanton <br /> Municipal Code to promote commute alternatives and reduce average daily vehicle <br /> trips. This amendment helps implement two Climate Action Plan strategies: to improve <br /> and increase transit ridership with incentives, partnerships and related investments; <br /> and to promote alternatives to work and school commutes. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br /> The Planning Commission recommended to the City Council approval of the proposed <br /> amendment to the Pleasanton Municipal Code by 5-0 vote. The Planning Commission <br /> staff report and meeting minutes for February 26, 2014 are included as Attachment 3. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Introduce the attached draft ordinance adding Chapter 17.26 (Transit Incentive) of Title <br /> 17 (Planning and Related Matters) and amending Chapter 18.36 (RM Multifamily <br /> Residential Districts) to add section 18.36.095 Transit Incentive, and to amend Chapter <br /> 18.88 (Off Street Parking Facilities) to add section 18.88.035 Requirements for <br /> alternatives vehicle parking, of Title 18 (Zoning) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> (Case P14-0001). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> No fiscal impact to the City or public services is anticipated. <br />
