~J <br /> <br />RESOLUTION N0. 20,E <br />1'v'HF.~~EAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2053 of the City Council <br />of the Town of Pleasanton, notices were published inviting sealed bids <br />and proposals for the improvement of brain Street from Arroyo del Valle <br />to County Road 2000 (Bernal Avenue}, to be submitted at a meeting of <br />the City Council to be held on the 16th day oi' August, 1949, at £':00 <br />P. b. ; and <br />W'I~REAS, pursuant to said notices, the following bids for <br />doing said v;ork were received by the City Clerk, viz.; <br />Orland Close, an individual doing business as <br />Close Building Supply ~omnany, X9,510.00 <br />Clements & Company $p10,760.00 <br />Independent Construction Company ,~b10,730.00 <br />Peter Sorensen X11,773.00 <br />and - <br />WHEREAS the bid of Orland Close, doing bllS1Y$i5 as Close Building <br />Supply Company is the lowest and best bid submitted by said bidders; and <br />PuIIEREAS said bid is in proper form and conforms to the plans, <br />specifications and notice to bidders and has been approved by the Department <br />of Public Vvorks of the State of California for the use of gas tax money <br />and payment for said ~~ork, <br />IvUVti 11^HE:REFGRE, BE IT RESOLVED that said bid of Orland Close, <br />doing business as Close Building Supply Company, to do said work of im- <br />proving brain Street from Arroyo del Valle to County Road 2000 (Bernal <br />Avenue}, in accordance with said plans, specifications and notice, be <br />and is hereby accepted as the lowest and. best bid for doing said vaork <br />and that the 1>Rayor and Clerk of the Town of Pleasanton be and they are <br />hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract on behalf of the <br />Totivn of Pleasanton vrith said Orland Close for the doing of said work. <br />BE IT FtiRTHER RESOLVED that all other bids received for the <br />doing of said wor<c be rejected and the certified checks and/or bonds <br />accompanying the same be returned. <br />INTRGDUCED by Councilman Hansen and secon!~ed by Councilman <br />Toney at a regular meeting held on Tuesday, August 16th. 1949, and <br />passed and adopted by the following vote: <br />AYES: Councilmen Hanseni Toney,, Trimriin~ham anti Oxsen <br />NOE5: Cotmcilrnen None <br />ABSENT: Council men Brenner <br />Attests <br />ler of to Ton of Pleasanton. <br />NIay of t~Town of easanton <br />
