s,tJ :PL MEN 1AL MATERIAL
March 1, 2014 ;'+ 1.' c, the City Council
Aft ,)istribution of Packet
Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers
City of Pleasantonte
123 Main Street
Pleasanton, CA 94566
RE: Council Agenda Item 9, March 4, 2014
Dear Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers:
I am writing regarding the above referenced Agenda Item. I want you to know that I am
in favor of completing the East Side Specific Plan planning process in a timely manner.
This underutilized area of Pleasanton can provide a wonderful opportunity for additional
housing choices for current and future residents. I do not believe the approvals should
be tied to any RHNA allocations as suggested in the staff report. This community is in
need of new housing and the preferred plan seems to offer this. Additionally the
proposed new parks and trails and extension of the iron horse trail will open this area up
to all residents, offering a great community benefit.
I am a young professional with my business located in Pleasanton. I hope to move here
and raise my family in Pleasanton. However, as you know, housing is very expensive
and we need more homes in the 1500 to 2500 square foot range and more choices
under $1 million. I would love to see more changes like this in Pleasanton to benefit the
youth that are trying to grow old here.
Please support the specific plan process moving forward as quickly as possible and
without being tied to RHNA allocations.
Best regards
Danielle Fratellone D.C.
