MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> Mayor Thorne read the following letter, signed by the President of the International Association of <br /> Firefighters, into the record. <br /> "Dear Mayor Thorne, Captain Paul Chenkovich who died in the line of duty on November 5, 2013, was <br /> a member of the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department in your community. He sacrificed his life in an <br /> act of courage, humanitarianism, and selfless devotion to duty. We want you to know the loss suffered <br /> by our membership and the community is shared by the 298,000 members of the International <br /> Association of Firefighters. We join you in conveying our sincere condolences to the family of Captain <br /> Chenkovic:h." <br /> COUNCIL REPORTS - None <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:02 p.m. The Council extended a <br /> tribute to our nation's men and women serving in the military.
