CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 900 <br /> <br /> AN INTERIM ORDINANCE PLACING CERTAIN PROPERTY <br /> INTO AN S (STUDY) DISTRICT FOR FOUR MONTHS AND <br /> TEMPOraRILY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP ASSOCIATED <br /> WITH SAID PROPERTY, SAID ORDINANCE BEING ADOPTED <br /> AS AN URGENCY MEASURE. (ZONING UNIT MAP ~190) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Taubman Company, Inc., (Owner) owns 26 acres located on <br /> the northeast corner of Foothill Road and Stoneridge <br /> Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Owner requested a modification to the General Plan <br /> designation on 23 acres of the property from "Public <br /> and Institutional" to "Commercial and Offices"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during the Public Hearing on the requested General Plan <br /> change concern over the nature of the development per- <br /> mitted under the existing zoning was raised by residents <br /> in the area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have the existing zoning re- <br /> viewed and studied to insure that the commercial or office <br /> development on the site be appropriate for the surround- <br /> ings; and /,.I . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the existing General Plan designation should not be removed <br /> .unless the property is placed in anS (Study) District to <br /> prevent development for a reasonable period while the <br /> proper zoning is studied. ..-~ <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />ORDAIN, ON AN URGENCY BASIS, THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The property owned by Taubman Company, Inc., located on <br /> the northeast corner of Foothill Road and Stoneridge Drive, <br /> more particularly shown on Zoning Unit Map No. 190 attach- <br /> ed hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby classified as "S" (Study) <br /> District. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton, dated April 18, <br /> 1960, referred to in Section 2-12.12, Chapter 2 (Zoning) <br /> of Title II (Development and Zoning) of the Ordinance Code <br /> of the City of Pleasanton into Zoning Districts, which is <br /> on file in the office of the City Clerk, is hereby amended as <br /> shown on Zoning Unit Map #190. <br /> <br /> Section 3. This ordinance is declared to be adopted pursuant to <br /> Section 65858 of the Government Code of the State of Cali- <br /> fornia and is necessary and required to protect the public <br /> safety, health and welfare of the citizens of the City <br /> of Pleasanton in order to require development appropriate <br /> to the site and to surroundings. <br /> <br /> <br />
