THE CITY OF <br /> 5 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANITON, <br /> February 18, 2014 <br /> Operation Services <br /> TITLE: AUTHORIZATION TO ENTER INTO A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br /> AGREEMENT WITH SMB ENVIRONMENTAL INC. FOR ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> REVIEW OF THE CITY RECYCLED WATER PROJECT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On November 5, 2013, City Council authorized staff to begin the environmental review <br /> process to further develop Pleasanton's Recycled Water Project. This environmental <br /> review is a required to fulfill CEQA and NEPA compliance per state and federal <br /> regulation and will cover all aspects of treatment expansion, distribution phasing, and <br /> possible recycled water services the City anticipates providing in the future. After fully <br /> evaluating the proposal from SMB Environmental, Inc. (SMB) to prepare the work, staff <br /> has determined that it is the most qualified firm to complete the project.SMB previously <br /> performed the Environmental Issues and Constraints Report in conjunction with the <br /> City's Pleasanton's Recycled Water Feasibility Study, and thus is very familiar with the <br /> City's Recycled Water Project. The estimated cost for the recommended work is <br /> $49,924. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Authorize the City Manager to execute the Professional Services Agreement with <br /> SMB Environmental, Inc in the amount of$49,924. <br /> 2. Appropriate $49,924 from the Recycled Water Fund 536-459 to cover project <br /> costs. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The total estimated cost provided by SMB Environmental, Inc. to conduct a <br /> comprehensive environmental review covering DSRSD treatment expansion and all <br /> phases of the recycled water services presented in Pleasanton's Recycled Water <br /> Feasibility Study is $49,924. This cost will be paid from the recycled water fund. <br />
