ANDREA NELSON First 5 Los Angeles,Best Start Community Assessment.* Co-managed and facilitated community assessment workshops in 14 Best Start communities in Los Outreach Specialist Angeles County.Working collaboratively with First 5 LA, Harder+Co,and Social Services Group,coordinated and conducted community assessments to inform each community's planning process. These place-based workshops encouraged the active participation of community members to provide both quantitative and qualitative data. Over 1,000 residents, mothers and fathers,educators,and health and service providers attended the workshops. City of Richmond,Community Heath and Wellness Element Implementation.* Assisted the City to launch five pilot projects and two neighborhood strategies to launch the implementation of the General Plan's Community Health and Wellness Element. Worked closely with the City and partners to develop Access to Healthy Foods:Vendors Ordinance; Safe Neighborhoods and Public Spaces: Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Guidelines;Access to Quality Affordable Housing: Senior Housing Guidelines;and Completeness of Neighborhoods and Leadership in Building Healthy Communities: Healthy Development Checklist. Worked with the City and partners to identify improvements and develop neighborhood action plans.
