Economic Development
6. Public Hearing — Waived full reading and adopted Resolution No. 13-548 levying the
Pleasanton Downtown Association Business Improvement District Assessment for 2014
7. Introduced and waived first reading of Ordinance 2085 to amend Municipal Code section
5.24.020 (Delinquent taxes — Penalties) to Restructure the Timing of Delinquent Business License
Tax Penalties while Maintaining the Current Maximum Amount
Councilmember Brown asked the Finance Director if the amendment is expected to improve timely
payment of the associated fees.
Mr. Fialho explained that the item relates to the Business License Program which is managed by the
Economic Development rather than Finance Department. The amendment would increase the current
delinquency fee and assess it over a shortened period of time in order to incentivize timely payment. As
a matter of interest, delinquencies with respect to this fee are generally associated with small to
medium sized companies rather than the city's larger organizations.
Finance
8. Accepted the Monthly Disbursements and Investment Report for October 2013
9. Accepted the 2013/14FY First Quarter Financial Report
10.
