ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ACCEPTING THE PLEASANTON DOWNTOWN HISTORIC CONTEXT <br /> STATEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of October 18, 2012, the City Council approved the <br /> formation of the Historic Preservation Task Force to review the current Downtown <br /> Specific Plan and associated Downtown Design Guidelines and to make <br /> recommendations to the City Council to help clarify City policy on historic preservation <br /> and development review processes in the Historic Downtown; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Task Force held 12 Task Force meetings, four public outreach <br /> meetings, and one public workshop and considered the Pleasanton Downtown Historic <br /> Context Statement prepared for the Task Force in 2012 by Architectural Resources <br /> Group. This Context Statement identifies primary themes in the history of Pleasanton <br /> and connects those themes to the built environment by identifying property types <br /> associated with each theme; and <br /> WHEREAS, on November 13, 2013, the Planning Commission held a public <br /> hearing on the Pleasanton Downtown Historic Context Statement and recommended to <br /> the City Council that it accept the Context Statement as a resource document; and <br /> WHEREAS, a noticed public hearing was held on December 17, 2013, at which <br /> time the City Council reviewed the Pleasanton Downtown Historic Context Statement <br /> and considered all related reports, documents, testimony, and the recommendations of <br /> the Task Force and the Planning Commission. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER <br /> THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council accepts the Pleasanton Downtown Historic <br /> Context Statement, as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made part of this <br /> resolution by reference and with the understanding that some non-substantive clerical <br /> errors need to be fixed by staff. The City Council directs that this Context Statement be <br /> used as a resource document to help determine whether a residential structure in the <br /> Downtown Specific Plan Area is eligible for listing in the California Register and <br /> considered a historic structure. <br /> SECTION 2. The Council finds that acceptance of this Context Statement will <br /> not cause a significant effect on the environment as provided in Title 14 California Code <br /> of Regulations Section 15061(b)(3). <br /> SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its <br /> passage and adoption. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on December 17, 2013. <br />
